Refund Policy

Every engagement is documented in a written service agreement that identifies the scope of work and the fees involved. Where that agreement addresses refunds or cancellation, its terms govern. This page describes our general approach where the agreement is silent.

Service fees are earned as the corresponding work is performed. If an engagement ends before the agreed work is complete, fees are reconciled against the work performed up to the date of cancellation, and any unearned balance is returned to you.

A retainer is an advance against fees and costs, not a separate charge. It is applied to work as it is performed and to third-party costs as they are incurred. If an engagement ends, any portion of the retainer that has not been applied is returned to you.

Fees for work that has already been completed and delivered are non-refundable. This includes work completed even where the outcome is not the one you hoped for — SafeIndices does not guarantee any particular result, and refunds are not based on outcome.

If you cancel while work is underway, we stop work promptly and prepare a statement of the work performed through the cancellation date. You remain responsible for that work and for costs already incurred; anything beyond that is refunded.

Amounts paid to third parties on your behalf cannot be refunded once incurred. These typically include:

• Recording, filing, and county or government fees.
• Title, escrow, appraisal, inspection, and closing costs.
• Credit reports, searches, and other due diligence expenses.
• Courier, notary, and document handling charges.
• Fees charged directly by attorneys or other independent professionals.

Any fee identified as non-refundable in your service agreement is non-refundable as stated there.

You may cancel an engagement at any time by notifying us in writing at the email address below. Cancellation is effective when we receive your notice. We may also end an engagement where continuing is not feasible or where information provided to us proves inaccurate or incomplete; in that case, the same reconciliation applies.

Approved refunds are issued to the original payer using the original payment method where possible. If that method is unavailable, we will arrange an alternative with you.

If you believe an amount was charged in error or you have a question about a refund, contact us and we will review your account and respond directly.
